Face Morphing:
An Undergraduate Project by Graham Haynes (Supervisor: Steve Maddock)

Help Out

If you feel that you have something to contribute to this project then please get in touch with me.

I have a number of references and other points to follow up from, but it is almost inevitable that I will miss something.

I am looking for anything related to morphing, in particular:

  • Morphing (warping) techniques
  • Morphing of faces
  • Morphing software and user interfaces
  • Automatic morphing
  • Edge detection and smoothing filters
  • Ghost/problem elimination techniques
  • Techniques to maximise realism of the morph
  • 3D morphing, especially 2D techniques adapted to 3D
  • Similar projects
I am also looking for:
  • Feature detection, face recognition and biometrics
  • Labelling systems for faces, especially human and primate
  • Applications of morphing
  • Anything relating to this project

Plus, I'm on the look out for a name for the program. Ideally the name would be some word with a story linking to the project, perhaps from a piece of literature. Some current ideas are:

  • Allomorph
  • Behemorph
  • Betamorph
  • Blender
  • Hybridiser
  • Mammorph
  • Maura
  • Mesomorph/Endomorph/Ectomorph
  • Morphon
  • Monkey Magic
  • Proteus
  • Rakshasa
  • Transwarp

All of these have a meaning of some sort, though for some you may be hard pressed to find the link!

I will - of course - acknowledge any leads or work contributed to the project by others, but as this is an individual project the final product must be my own.
